At the April Village Board Meeting, the Village Board of Trustees unanimously voted to reduce the speed limit on Maple Avenue down to 25 MPH and to direct DPW Superintendent Cole Keyser to purchase and install the appropriate signage.

The Board approved this speed reduction after local residents requested the change due to increased traffic as a result of the new Little League Fields on Cliffside Drive. A formal Resolution will follow at the May Village Board Meeting.

“As a result of new legislation signed into law two years ago in Albany, Villages have more leeway to adjust local speed limits,” explained Village Mayor Timothy Knight. He added, “The new speed limit is effective immediately.”
