The Village of Middleburgh Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint the newly formed Village Grants Committee on Monday night.

The Village Grants Committee consists of five appointed members and five alternates. As part of the Village’s Grant Survey conducted earlier this year, local residents were invited to participate in a new committee and eight residents responded. The purpose of the committee is to prioritize projects for federal and state grant applications in the coming years.

Appointed members of the committee include: Village Mayor Timothy Knight and Village Trustee Robert Tinker as municipal representatives, while Patty Paser, David Avitabile, and Susan London were appointed as citizen representatives. In addition, Karen Brathauer, Nathan Searles, James Snyder, Candy Reynolds-Cummings, and Sara Masterson were appointed as alternates.

“I am thrilled that so many Village residents and business owners expressed an interest in being part of this Village Grants Commitee,” said the Mayor. He continued, “I am looking forward to many productive meetings as we discuss the future of Middleburgh, and how best to apply for and receive grant funds to address infrastructure and community concerns alike.”

The Village Grants Committee will begin meeting in May and throughout the coming months. Meetings will be advertised and open to the public.
